I got home from work today at 6.30.
I needed a little something to keep me ticking over til dinner time, and what better to warm me up from the chills outside than a lovely cup of tea in a favourite mug, with some yummy cake.
A delicious piece of plum and orange cake, and a cuppa in my gorgeous Emporium mug (a very kind and lovely gift from the owner).
Its the little details that brighten your day :)
I had to get working on a special commission from a lovely customer, and really enjoyed working on something a little bit different. This is a make up bag/pouch made from a lovely mix of pretty fabrics (including some treasured pink rosali paisley!)
I thought I'd go with a patchwork style, working in long strips and keeping the fabrics and colours co-ordinating too. I'd forgotten how nice it is to work with patchwork, picking and choosing fabric and prints that will sit side by side happily and not fight with each other!
The customer requested some button detail so I added five pretty little matching buttons and a really lovely pink flower button for the button-hole closure.
Just the right size for some little essentials, and a handy shape for a handbag too.
The lining is a really pale blue with pink and white spots, although it looks pretty grey in this photo! Where is the sun?!!!
One commission down, only 9 more to go!

A couple of weeks ago I had a lovely email through Roses and Gingham to make a length of bunting suitable for birthdays, which would work for either a male or female birthday.
I love to receive custom orders and especially like working to someone elses specifications and ideas to come up with exactly what they are looking for.
In this case I went for polka dots, ginghams and stripes in primary colours and used a lovely deep purple for the letter text.
I also got to work on a lovely set of bunting for a little girls room too, which I love as I am a pink girl at heart, and like working with florals and pretty fabrics. For both sets I used some great white binding from the fab Patch Fabrics, which if you haven't visited yet, and you are a crafter, you really must!
I matched some pink buttons to the pink gingham used for the name, and sewed them onto the end flags, which I think is a really lovely little detail.
Oh, and one very exciting bit of news is that I am an aunt again for the 2nd time this year, and I have another lovely nephew who I shall be making some little handmade goodies for.

Hi, remember me?
I used to blog here, then I had some severe camera problems and that put an end to my blogging for a while. But happily I have tip-toed back into my blog, hopefully getting things back up to speed!
So, I'll be starting a little slowly, trying to remember how to blog!
So the 52MMMC, blogging about that fell by the wayside, but I did actually keep it up in one way or another, so here we have
Week 7 - Plum Butter Tarts and Homemade Blackberry and Apple Jam Tarts
I would say about half of my 'makes' have been food based, and the other half craft based, although I'm not quite sure what other options I had - thats all I'm good at!!
Week 8 - Homemade Apple Tart.
a la Nigella Lawson, this is from her Nigella Express cookbook, only it should be a rectangle shape!
It was lovely, despite its messy appearance!
So theres my comeback - hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things and I have lots to show, lots of crafty orders, Christmas ideas, thrifty finds and more.
See you soon
